Weekly Photo Challenge: Today was a Good Day

p. bidadariIt was really a good day, it terms of any conditions, the beach, the ocean, the beautiful blue sky and the weather. Bidadari Island in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Indonesia, is one of the best my destination holiday. I am the person who really love the sea and the ocean. Has not have a chance to learn diving, and felt scared when did snorkeling. I was regret because I did not swim in the deeper sea when I went to NTT (because none of our ship cabin crew wants to accompany me). But I still had so much fun, and really want to go to that place anymore. So, when I went to Bunaken Island, Nourth Sulawesi, Indonesia. I have a guide who accompany me to swim into the ocean. And really have unforgettable moment. When we hold our breath for a while and dive into the ocean, then when we swimming to the surface we could see the sunlight falling into the ocean. So beautiful!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Selfie

What does selfie mean? According to Oxford dictionary (online), definition of selfie is a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website. Unfortunately, recently I just found out that many of my friends have a misunderstanding about selfie means. They thought selfie is the photograph of oneself (without being accompanied by others) and it has taken by others. So, everytime I upload my photograph and receive a comment from someone who has a misunderstanding about selfie, I’ll try to correct their understanding and give their an explanation about selfie means. I think it is necessary for us to understand about what we say. So, please correct me if I am wrong.

Talking about selfie, I am not used to do that kind of thing. As I remember, if I try to make a selfie, the result always not satisfactory at all. But one day, when I went to some places by myself, there are only 3 options if I want to capture the moment. First, I could only take the picture of the beautiful view of that place. Second, if I want to have myself in the picture, I could ask someone to take my photo, but it is a little bit annoying I think. So the last option is selfie, I have to take my own picture by myself. So that I try to make selfie. I try so many times to get at least one good picture, but as you can see (the above photograph) the photo is still not good. Then, though (perhaps) it was a little bit annoying and embarrassing, I ask anyone I meet to take my photo :D. In my opinion, to memorize the special moment,Β  I would ask someone to help me in taking my picture rather than I make a selfie with bad result because the moment itself will never be repeated.

Weekly Photo Challenge: One (and Only Mother)

Weekly Photo Challenge: One (and Only Mother)

Since my father already passed away 13 years ago, so I will do anything for her.

She is not perfect but it shows that she is a human. She not always be in good mood because maybe she have experienced a hard life. Sometimes she said that she is ok, but it is a common word for her to say, in order to make us happy and not worry about her. She really wants us to be happy and secure with our life and sometimes it makes her sacrifices everything.

There will be no precious things in this world could be exchanged with all the things that she already gave to us. She is the one and only mother I have. I really hope she always be happy and healthy in her life.

I took these water lily flowers’ picture during my vacation in Malang City, East Java, Indonesia. Around Tugu Malang, there is beautiful lily water flower pond that makes me interested to take its picture.

We could take a lesson that beautiful lily water flower can grow in the middle of a dirty pond and moss. As a human being we could learn that no matter how bad or dirty the environment we live in, hopefully we could protect ourselves from the bad influences, and still could be a good human being.

What A Beautiful World (II)

Manado, North Sulawesi, Begining of May, 2013

At the beginning of May, I and my family went to Manado, Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia to visit my older sister and her family. We also came because of my niece was having a sweet seventeen’s party. It was my second time to go there, and finally I had a chance to go to Bunaken and did the snorkeling, yeaaay. Feel very exciting! So many beautiful fishes you could see. Manado is located at the Bay of Manado and is surrounded by a mountainous area. Only in Manado I could see the coconut tree grow in the highlands. The foods are delicioso such as, bubur menado, nasi kuning and we could eat a fresh seafood in Manado.

Yogyakarta-Magelang, North Java, End of May, 2013

I decided to go to Magelang, the city near Yogyakarta to see Vesak’s Day celebration at Borobudur Temple. Ya, like every one else, I really would go there to see Buddhists fly the lanterns. I already know about this ceremony around 2 years ago but haven’t managed (yet) to see it directly. Unfortunately, it was a big rain during the ceremony. But I had the most memorable moment. It was the time when I saw sunrise and Borobudur Statue from Nirwana Punthuk Setumbu.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Saturated

In 2012, there was music festival which called Java Soulnation in Jakarta, Indonesia. One of the performers is James Morrison. He is a singer-song writer from English. After waiting for him to come from several years ago, he finally came and performed in Jakarta. What such a good music he has. Good looking and good voice, it is such a good combination. I satisfied with his performance, hope he could come back to Jakarta, Indonesia later with bigger performance.
