The Paperbook Blog

It’s that time people…time to start getting excited.

Or, if you’re me, more excited, nervous and exhilarated than you have ever felt before. Except perhaps the time I went skydiving in New Zealand, but that’s another story.

That’s right, three days left to get your submissions in for the very first issue of the Paperbook Magazine!! (name pending).

I have had some excellent submissions flow in over the past few days as everyone finishes polishing their work and sending it my way. If you’re still hesitating, now is the time to bite the bullet and send it in.

Don’t miss out!

I had a very productive creative session last Sunday with my good friend from Art Of Darkness, throwing around ideas and thoughts. And, let’s face it, getting very drunk. But we have decided on a fantastic cover image, which he is working on as we speak. This…

Weekly Photo Challenge: The Golden Hour

I took this photo when I was on vacation at Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. I always love sunrise and sunset moment, it is the time when we can see the greatness of The God. Plus at that time I have a chance to sleep on a boat in the middle of the ocean. It was a new experience that I will never forget. Since I was in the middle of the ocean, so it was easy for me to see the sunrise and sunset moment.

I took this photo at around 6 to 7 pm. At this moment, I and my friend suddenly stopped to talk, we were both silent and amazed with what we saw at that moment, it was natural painting of the earth and very beautiful. Although many of my friends say this photo is beautiful, but there was nothing like to compare by seeing it directly.

Thank God for the opportunity, so I could see  The Beauty of Your Creation.

Al Baqarah [2:185]

The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic

This picture shows one of living rooms in my grandparent‘s house in Malang, East Java, Indonesia. Every lebaran day, we are all gather in their very big house. This room is used to greet the relatives who come and visit them.

But now, everything is change. My grandparents is already passed away. The situation is not the same anymore. We as a big family still gather in their very big house, but there will be no my grandfather anymore.

The constant in life is changes. We have to accept it whether we like it or not. It is easier to accept the things that we can not change or adjust our attitude to it.

Falling in Love

Falling in love is like riding a roller coaster. Your heart beats very fast and you have a weird feeling in your stomach.

You will always think about someone you love and you will keep smiling. Feeling ten or fifteen years younger and really live up your life.

Love will appear suddenly, without any warning signs. If someone ask you why do you fall in love with her/him? You could not explain it, it just happens.

“First best is falling in love. Second best is being in love. Least best is falling out of love. But any of it is better than never having been in love.” ― Maya Angelou
